Welcome

to Maternal Quality Indicators Work Group (MQI)

The Maternal Quality Indicators Work Group (MQI) is comprised of independent clinicians and research scientists who have joined together to develop an evidence-based toolbox of clinically meaningful measures of quality indicators related to pregnancy and childbirth. Our objective is to develop childbirth indicators that have the potential to improve childbirth safety and quality. We partner with hospitals and collaborate with state and national agencies, proposing innovative childbirth measures and rigorously testing the measures using administrative and primary hospital data. This website is geared towards professionals interested in childbirth safety and quality, including clinicians, healthcare services researchers, and healthcare providers. We also invite parents who have experienced childbirth services to explore and comment on the various aspects of childbirth presented in the website.
